Stewardship

CertificationProtect the value of your farm.

We understand our responsibility for environmentally sound practices. It is our duty to protect and preserve this valuable natural resource, the land. We strongly believe in maintaining the soil’s health through proper fertility and we work to protect the value of your farm, as well as our investment in farming it.

Certification

Since 2011, we have been environmentally certified annually through an independent third-party auditing firm. Each year an audit is performed examining erosion issues, soil and water quality, and wildlife and conservation practices.

We were awarded the Environmental Certification by Validus Ventures, LLC for our commitment to environmental cropland stewardship. Link to article

The Environmental Certification program focuses on five key areas: water quality, soil quality, plants, wildlife and energy use. The audit involves
•    maintaining or improving soil productivity and water quality
•    improving wildlife habitats
•    controlling noxious weeds
•    reducing energy inputs
•    restricting access to fuel, pesticides and fertilizer storage
•    improving energy conservation
•    improving security of stored grain

We chose to participate in an objective, third-party certification program to confirm we are implementing production practices that protect the environment and preserve the land.

The land on which we produce crops is a valuable component of our operation, but our employees and their safety is of utmost importance. We have also received, since 2011, certification annually in On-Farm Security. Efficiency is critical to the success of a farming operation, but safety is vital. It is important to us that we provide a work environment that is safe for our employees and visitors.

We received certification for On-Farm Security: the third-party audit reviewed our crop, fuel, fertilizer and pesticide storage and practices as well as our equipment and identity-preserved crops.
